Mardi Gras is a very restrictive time for sex offenders in Louisiana and now we learn that the king of big parade in Houma has been arrested.
Acting on a complaint, Terrebonne Parish deputies arrested 34-year-old Glynn Matherne, who was named as the King of the Krewe of Mardi Gras.
Captain Dawn Foret explains it was for his actions last year, when he also rode in a parade.
''Riding on a float wearing a mask and throwing beads or trinkets to anyone under the age of 18,'' said Foret.
Matherne says sex offenders are frequently reminded about what they can't do during Mardi Gras, just like it is for trick of treating during Halloween.
''He was subsequently arrested for violating the rules that sex offenders agree to.''
Matherne, whose been a registered sex offender since 2003, was set to reign as the King of the Krewe of Mardi Gras this coming Saturday in Houma. ..Source.. by WWL.com
